Review Board: Tales of the Unknown

There is only one Review Board in Tales of the Unknown. It is an ordinary white building located in Trumpet Street. In spite of it being one of the most important places in the game, the house does not look different from other white houses in Skara Brae. It is located one building south of the corner of Black Smith & Trumpet street on the East side of Trumpet Street.

The Review Board was also used as a bit of copy protection for the game, from time to time, you would be asked questions that would only be known if you had the game map, or the box for reference.

The Review Board is the only place in the game where you could advance your characters skills. As you play the game, you gain experience, as usual with any other RPG, but to gain any levels that would increase attributes of your characters, you are required to come to the review board.

The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate[]

Luckily one of the Review Board Elders survived Tarjan's assault against Skara Brae and the party is able to train and gain spells once obtaining enough experience points. The last surviving elder instructs the party to first seek out Brilhasti ap Tarj underneath the Temple of the Mad God. Under Gran Plaz- The Catacombs
