Pellis is not a character from the game, but from the clue book of The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown. He introduces the reader to the clue book's main narrative: the diary of Lord Garrick, who managed to fight his way to the uppermost level of Mangar's Tower, where he and his party perished. We can see from the clue book's introduction that Pellis is an old man and a friend of Lord Garrick. Garrick's diary tells that Pellis tortured one of Mangar's minions in order to get information about the secret passageway that leads from the lowest sewer level up to Mangar's Tower in Skara Brae.
